Mistletoe Market | The Greetery Market Place No. 1

While storm Boelo passed over the weekend, I put on my headphones, hit play on an audiobook, and headed to my craft space to work on more Christmas makes.

I’d just finished pinning some new Color Crush colour palettes from The Stamp Market to my Pinterest board, and thought I’d give one of them a go with the Christmas Market collection from The Greetery.

Card idea | The Greetery Market Place No. 1

My building of choice for the above colour palette was Market Place No. 1.

I quickly found that I needed to adjust the colour palette a little, though, and these are the shades I went with in the end:

  • Blush (main building)
  • Tickle Me Pink (door, roof, arches, window blinds, and fleur-de-lis)
  • Dijon (window frames and fleur-de-lis)
  • Aspen and Fruit Punch (wreaths and bows)
  • Candy Kiss (store sign)
  • C9 Almond (building interior)

I added snow details to the door, windows, roof, and building decorations with a paint pen.

Then I added the wreath and bow combos and splattered everything with white paint.

Next, I cut the festoon lights from glitter card, added the stamped sign and an extra bow above it, and sprinkled everything with Clear Rock Candy glitter for extra sparkle.

Finally, I cut the Merry Christmas banner from cotton card and backed the building with a small notecard.

And there we go!

Until next time, happy crafting!

Wow! I cannot stop going back to see the lovely details. This is gorgeous & I love all the sparkle- so Christmasy! One question… what adhesive did you use to adhere the Rock Candy Glitter- was it the Bear Arts just dotted where you wanted it? I really want to make something similar. Love your creations!

Thanks for your lovely message Donna! 🙂

I seem to be in the pink phase for tiny houses at the moment, and don’t mind one bit!

To adhere the rock candy glitter, I prefer to use a clear adhesive. In my case, it’s the Tombow Mono Aqua glue in the blue bottle. I bought a huge bottle of this years ago to try out and refill my tiny detail glue bottles. It’s often too wet for sticking card and paper down (a little goes a long way), but it’s absolutely great for adding glitter. Especially Distress Glitter.

I basically dot it where snow would fall, so over the top of white roof and window details, but also straight onto bows and wreaths. I don’t cover the full surface, but just run the glue along edges or in swirls, and the glitter sticks nicely.

I’m sure any clear glue will work well; this just happens to be the best for the job in my stash. And it makes a big difference if you’re able to decant the glue into a small bottle with a detail nib. You have much more control. 🙂

      Hope that helps! xx
