So today’s post is in part my response to a couple of the colour picks for this year’s Pantone card challenge. One is Greenery (our April colour) and the other is Grenadine (our November colour) and both shades are wonderfully festive and brought to mind two figures I could easily incorporate on my Christmas cards.
Buddy the Elf and Santa!
So first up, my Buddy the Elf cards.
I must admit to finally getting my hands on the Waffle Flower Surface Tag die set and Santa Add-on as I have been coveting it for a while and now that I have some Buddy-related sentiments in my collection thanks to Lil’ Inker Designs and the All the Christmas You’ll Ever Need 2 stamp set well the time was right.
Paper: Lawn Fawn – Knit Picky

Dies: Waffle Flower – Surface Tag and Santa Add-on, PTI – Sending You dies
Other: 3D foam tape, Distress Ink
I used a mix of sentiments from different stamp sets for these cards, they can all be found at the very end of this blog post. But the main attraction is of course the Elf tag. Candy Apple Bazzill cardshoppe is a great match for the Buddy shade of green, and I used Peeled Paint Distress Ink to add a little dimension to the placket down the front. The collar is actually cut from two “leaves” from a die set by PTI and those Knit Picky papers really do offset the tags nicely.
Inside I stamped the following quote from Elf:
The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear
So, four Buddy cards added to the Christmas card tin, and next up Buddy’s friend Santa:

I did two different designs for the tags this time. This one has a longer beard and a different sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s Deck the Halls stamp set.
Then the other has the Lil’ Inker Designs sentiment I also used for the fronts, plus the shorter beard to fit in the buttons:
Really easy to put together and again my Bazzill Cardshoppe cardstock offered up the perfect festive shade for the suit.
The sentiment inside the Santa cards reads:
It’s all fun and games ’til Santa checks the naughty list!
Most appropriate for a few people on my Christmas card list. 😀
