Happy 40th birthday galaxy style

Hello folks!

As you can see I’ve been out of the crafting zone for a good few months. This is actually the first card I’ve made since April and it was a special request from a friend. 🙂

I dusted off my Distress Inks and some other classic items in my stash to make this special 40th birthday card:

I used my classic go-to shades of ink for the galaxy background: Picked Raspberry, Mermaid Lagoon, Seedless Preserves, and Black Soot.

I still prefer to use the regular Distress Inks if I’m going to do some heat embossing on the background as it’s a bit easier for me to also arrange all the elements without any chalky residue getting on the things that need to stay white, like those foam Thickers.

A few spritzes of water and some white acrylic paint spatter brought everything together before I embossed the sentiment and assembled the rest of the card.

The main panel is mounted on some map paper from Studio Calico and I also made a coordinating envelope with another pattern of map paper.

Not sure when I will be back in the crafting zone, but I still have cards I made back in April that I’ve not photographed yet.
