It’s the first Friday of a fresh new month, so of course we have a nice elemental inspiration challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers blog.
As December is nearing at quite a pace, I’m also switching my sights to festive card projects.
So behold the inspiration for this week:
And here is my festive take on it – and fair warning I’ve used some old but great supplies:

The elements I went with were someone in a hood, a furry creature, woodgrain, and a bit of knitwear.
Since I’m playing catch up on my festive projects this year, I am hoping to make multiples of the same card where possible. So for this card design I used different papers from the Bundled Up 6×6 paper pad, but I also tried out different colour combinations for the cuddly bear and little girl.
Here she is with red hair and a teal jacket:

And a cheery red jacket with coordinating stripy pink tights:
I tried to use a white pen for highlights, and though not very good at the whole shading thing with my limited Copic Ciao colours, the little white pen details really brought the images to life.
This was also the first outing for my infinity woodgrain frames. I think they will be rather handy for framing little winter scenes, you know how much I love those! LOL
The other little details include some glitter paper for the snow, Nuvo dots for the holly berries, and using some Forest Moss Distress Ink on the die-cut trees for extra depth.
