DCM – Shining Lights – Handmade by Natty

This week’s Daring Cardmakers countdown to Christmas challenge is all about light: whether from candles, fairy lights, or the winter sky.

I decided to focus on stars for my card, as I hadn’t yet used the Star Turnabout stamps from Concord & 9th and I thought they’d make a nice starry sky winter background.

Stamps: Concord & 9th – Star Turnabout, Hello Bluebird – Typed Christmas
Dies: Concord & 9th – Christmas Cottage, PTI – Seeing Stars
Other: Distress Oxides

I first stamped the Turnabout stamps in Versamark and heat embossed with a sparkly clear rainbow powder from a past card kit.

Then I blended several shades of blue and used Picket Fence Distress Ink in the centre to create a glow for the main event – a dimensional star.

I wanted to keep everything else very subtle so simply cut the Cottage dies from white cardstock and layered them up a little, adding only glitter paper to the roof and behind the windows.

Then finally I stamped a very fitting sentiment from Hello Bluebird.
