This week’s Daring Cardmakers challenge is definitely one for the music lovers! 😀
Svenja wants us to feature sheet music on our projects, and well… this ended up involving quite a bit of sorting through my patterned paper collection for something that would work.
I mean, you almost got a Christmas card as that’s the only paper I could find for the job until I came across a shabby chic print from an old My Mind’s Eye collection.

The thing is, I had the elements I wanted to use but the paper wasn’t a great match for my “Pitch, Please” stamp set from Ink Road that is inspired by the Pitch Perfect movies.
I tried to dull the greyness back a bit with some pink tones and splatters of ink and gold Gansai Tambi paint.
But it’s not quite how I hoped it would turn out. Perhaps I should have used original Distress Inks in hot colours rather than the Oxides. As the oxides have also made the top sentiment go dull. And that sentiment is the result of my first ever stamp surgery – cutting up an existing stamp to use just part of the sentiment. It is originally from a Christmas set no less, but I don’t think I’ll ever use the stamp in its entirety anyway, and this trimmed section is a handy one to have. 🙂
But never mind. It’s all a learning curve and I’m sure someone who enjoys Pitch Perfect will get the reference. 😉
