It’s perhaps not the best Father’s Day card I’ve made over the years, but Parks and Rec holds a special place in our father/daughter relationship.
It was actually this time back in 2015 that we were binge-watching the series while building Ikea furniture for the remodelled rooms at my parents’ house in an uncompromising heatwave!
Parks and Recreation made us laugh our way through it, and we’ve rewatched the series many times over since – together as well. 🙂
So a Ron Swanson tribute card was definitely called for, and although it didn’t come out quite how I imagined, there are still some Ron Easter eggs in the design:

Ron is quite the handyman and woodwork enthusiast, so a tape measure and a fine wooden frame were required and there’s also a hilarious sequence where he gets a vintage typewriter and proceeds to gleefully type out every word he knows.
Ron is a man of few words, but he imparts a good few pearls of wisdom.
Anyway, there’s not much else to say. I could have gone for the “Give me all the bacon and eggs you have” quote but didn’t have any bacon and egg artwork to go with that! lol
