For this week’s Daring Cardmakers challenge, Dawn has got us going 3D and making boxes, bags, and any other project with full on dimension.
Well, my project took a different route to the one I was expecting and I’m happy it did. I don’t often make pop-up cards but this was definitely a fun crafting session:

With a little measuring and scoring I created a pop-up box in a card that also allowed me to experiment with some newer purchases as well as use some background panels that I’d stamped ages ago as my “patterned paper”:
I really love multi-step stamping as you know, and the Modern Layered Floral set from Pinkfresh Studio appealed to me because it’s so easy to create the main body of the bouquet and then go in with different ink colours to fill in the rest.
I stamped out 3 bouquets exactly the same way and assembled them inside the box – cutting a few elements here and there to use as smaller accents.
To decorate the outside of my box I used the Dotted Background pre-stamped papers for the sides and the Confetti Background pre-stamped paper for the flaps.
I also had a serendipity moment when I realized the mason jar from The Greetery was the perfect size to fit on the front and give the illusion that the flowers were in a vase.
I added some smaller floral accents from the Handpainted Garden set to the flaps, popped up my sentiments and added a bow for the finishing touch.
I really loved this combination of colours and all the inks I used are listed below. 🙂
