2020 Christmas Countdown | Day 6 (O Christmas Tree)

Today’s card is more of a pared back affair.

It’s also my take on the February card challenge prompt which features hot pink and some lacy layers. 😉

I wanted to try making my own stamped background on a card blank with generational stamping and just a small selection of colours – and only acrylic blocks for stamping.

It’s by no means my best card, but it turned out OK in the end and was saved from the bin. 😉

I used Emerald Isle and Party Pink inks from The Stamp Market for the background stamping with the Mini Bottle trees set from Flora & Fauna.

The dot in this set also fits inside the “baubles” of the Christmas tree on the tag which is very handy for bringing the colours together.

I have lots of buttons in my stash, and I was determined to use one from the PTI mix Holiday Mix. I find these buttons a bit hit-and-miss for projects. The right colour will be in the wrong size and super lumpy, otherwise the right size is the wrong colour for your project. LOL Can’t win.

It’s probably why I usually reach for my jars of October Afternoon buttons. Those shades are more forgiving and even the larger buttons aren’t super lumpy.

Anyway, a plainish and experimental card today… onwards and upwards to the next one!
