2020 Christmas Countdown | Day 41 (Noel)

Good morning!

Today’s card is a festive take on the rather summery May prompt of the 2020 card challenge.

The original prompt photo was quite ethereal and focussed on baby pink tones and a bit of aqua, plus hearts.

I definitely wanted to use pale rose for the background panel and cut my card base panel with the Diamond Texture die from Waffle Flower.

I had a stack of white die cut letters to hand, having tested my new Pinkfresh alphabet dies (below), and thought I could use some of them for a bold greeting featuring cardstock scraps of the wonderfully bright shades from The Stamp Market.

I used the “strip of post-it tape” trick to transfer the letters to the panel once I’d got them nicely lined up on my craft mat.

It makes things so much easier – especially when the letters are on 3D foam.

I then flipped through my worryingly large collection of snowflake dies and picked out the WPlus9 Snowflake Trio for some extra texture and interest.

I added glitter enamel dots to the centres for that frosty feeling and just had a small gap let to fill, which was perfect for a tiny tag stamped with a festive sentiment.

I tied sparkly silver thread on the tag and finished everything off with a resin heart from Heidi Grace Designs that must be 13 years old or so by now.

Still looking fresh. 😉

So cute! There is something about the wee tag, the colors, and the “Noel” that make this one quirky and fun, and yet it still feels vintagey to me!
