With it being the first Friday of a new month, this week’s Daring Cardmakers challenge is an elemental inspiration dare.

For my elements I went with calligraphy-style writing, a decorative edge, a hint of gold, and twine:

I was definitely ready to use some patterned paper for a change and some pretty spring colours.
The Flower Market 6×6 pad from Carta Bella has some lovely designs in it and this floral background was speaking to me.
For a little contrast and to create a decorative edge similar to the lace in the photo I used an oval scallop frame from Mama Elephant for the aperture, allowing one of the other papers in the pad to provide a contrasting background.
The Written in Ribbons set from The Greetery has a lovely hand-lettered calligraphy style to it, and cleverly combines two-step stamping to create the contrast between light and shade. The Blush Pink and Peach inks from The Stamp Market really work well together for this.
I cut the ribbon element from Blush Pink cardstock too, using champagne gold glitter paper for the branch elements, and attached the button with twine to bring everything together.
With all those pattern elements I didn’t dare add anything else. I actually stepped away! 😉
