My card for this month’s card challenge prompt is also my Mother’s Day card for 2021. 😉
I was inspired by the typewriter, the tree (woodgrain), and the floral print in the prompt image, and of course had to feature green as the focus colour:

I’ve heard a worrying rumour that Crate Paper is being discontinued by American Crafts. For many years it was my go-to company for collections. I loved everything they released.
So I’ve got a good back catalogue of their collections, and I’ve always looked forward to their Christmas releases.
But it’s been all quiet from Crate Paper since July of last year and there don’t seem to be any new releases on the horizon.
So, to cope with this yet to be confirmed news, I decided to go retro and grabbed some papers from Emma’s Shoppe – one of their very early collections – and Paper Hearts which was a Valentine release (but very versatile!).
This design is a tried and true one. I was just itching for another excuse to use my retro typewriter die set from SugarPea Designs, and it provided the perfect way to feature a pop of green.
The “typed” sentiment is from the matching stamp set, and in the absence of any mother’s day sentiments (how weird that I don’t appear to have any) I used a lovely sentiment from the Tiny Words Encouragement set by Simon Says Stamp that is perfect for such an occasion and many others.
It’s stamped in Versafine Onyx Black onto cream cardstock cut with the sentiment strip die from MFT that’s now discontinued, but has featured on many a card I’ve made.
This little trip down memory lane was fun, I really should use more of my “vintage” stash more often. 😉
