This week’s challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers blog comes from Miri, who wants us to use black, white, and one other colour to create our cards.
Well I went back and forth on the elements I was going to use, but I knew I wanted to create an ombre effect with whatever colour I ended up choosing.
And as you can see, that colour was pink:

I started out by cutting the Heart Happy cover die from white cardstock two times so that it would create a little dimension on my card base.
Then I blended three tones of pink ink on a piece of white cardstock from light to dark. Once I was happy with the blend I went over it with a broad wet paintbrush to get a brushstroke texture.
I dried this panel quickly with my heat gun, then cut it with the Heart Happy Cover die too so I could piece in the hearts on my card base.
Finally, for my sentiment, I embossed the Big Birthday Wishes stamp from MFT in white on black cardstock and trimmed the sentiment to size with a Fishtail Flag die.
A very clean and simple look in the end. 🙂
