Long time no post, I know…
I’ve not really been in the mood for crafting at a desk of late, but when I did manage it earlier this month, I made this birthday card with some relatively new supplies. 😉
I also wanted to meet the April card prompt brief with pastel shades and was also inspired by the wavy line of pencils in the picture which reminded me of my scallop fringe border die.

So I ended up cutting the scallop fringe die from speckled pastel papers from Lawn Fawn – many, many times – and layering them up in an offset fashion to kind of mimic the frosting around those big birthday cakes you see in Pinterest.
Well, why not add another birthday cake?
So I did, with the Eat Cake set from The Stamp Market.
It made for a striking card with lots of texture and interest. 🙂
