For this week’s Daring Cardmaker’s challenge, Dawn wants us to (ideally) celebrate Halloween… but as Halloween isn’t something I usually make cards for, she’s kindly included a starry sky as a potential interpretation, I kind of expanded it to a snowy starry sky….

For maximum wintry sky, I knew I’d need to go with a slimline design (which is very difficult to photograph!) as there’s so much more space to blend a wider range of colours.
I started out with Tumbled Glass and Salvaged Patina at the bottom and worked up to the top using darker inks.
There of course needed to be a splattering of snow, so out came the bleed-proof white ink and the splatter box!
While the background was drying, I used scraps of cardstock from The Stamp Market to cut some cabins and trees from the Poppy Stamps pop-up snowglobe easel die set.
The Greetings from the North Pole was pre-stamped from another recent crafty session. I think the colour was Sea Glass from The Stamp Market for the blue outline text – very frosty!
Once I’d assembled everything, I added a gold star cut from the Festive Glitter pad from Memory Box, their glitter pads really are lovely, and I hope to get more now that I’ve found them stocked in the UK. 🙂
