For today’s card bundle, I got so caught up in the process that I ended up making 6 of this design.
And yes, it’s the return of another (Nordic) village scene, but this time in bolder colours:

I’m still not sure whether white card bases were the right call for this colour combo, but it is what it is.
I started out cutting the Nordic Frames panels from a cobalt blue cardstock from AC that I’ve had in my stash for ages. It needed something extra, so I used various blue Distress Oxides from dark to light to darken the edges so that the winter sky would kind of glow outwards. It looks rather effective in real life.
I then used the lighter Distress Oxides, including the lovely Salvaged Patina, with the Starry Sky die from Avery Elle to create the glowing sky and set those die cuts aside to dry after a spritz of water for texture.
Next, I cut all the other die cut elements (including using glitter cardstock for the snow drifts and sparkly star).
I blended regular distress ink and other dye inks on the little houses for a vibrant look.
Once that was done, it was almost time to assemble the finished cards. But first I needed to add my sentiment to the sky die cuts, and I simply popped the die-cuts back into the negative space of the cardstock panel I use as a template in the Misti when stamping this set, so the sentiments are all lined up the same.
Once stamped, I gave the sky a splattering of white ink and a blast with the heat gun to dry.
Then it was assembly time and hey presto, 6 cards were finally made.
