Cakes and Candles | Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Good morning!

It’s time for a brand-new challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers blog, and the theme this week is cake and candles!

Card inspiration from Handmade by Natty featuring Concord & 9th Make a Wish

Paper: Simple Stories – Dream Big (r)
Stamps: Concord & 9th – Make a Wish
Dies: Concord & 9th – Make a Wish, Pinkfresh Studio – Diagonal Stitched Rectangles

I started out by die-cutting and stamping the candles in the Make a Wish set in pretty shades of ink from The Stamp Market, which just happened to coordinate nicely with the striped paper in the background (which was a happy coincidence as I hadn’t been planning to add paper to this card).

I used Press n Seal to work out where I’d be placing the candles on the cream panel before stamping the sentiment in good old Versafine ink in my Misti.

I used scrap pieces of cardstock to create dimension behind the candles and stuck them down with liquid glue.

All that was left to do was add a pop of interest with enamel dots and card made. 🙂
