Around the House | Daring Cardmakers Challenge

This week over on the Daring Cardmakers Blog, Joanne has challenged us to use household objects to either create our card or to feature them on our card.

Card inspiration with Carta Bella Our House

Paper: Carta Bella – Our House (r)

Dies: The Stamp Market – Happiest of Birthdays, PTI – Tag Sale #10

To set the scene for my card, I used some lovely papers from the aptly named Our House collection from Carta Bella.

I just had to use that kitchen paper as the background to my card! And that led to me looking for a baking element to use as the main focal point.

Enter the Happiest of Birthdays set from The Stamp Market, which features a cake and candles. Once stamped, I added some “whipped cream” to the top of the cake in the form of Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff.

I used the Tag Sale #10 dies from PTI to show off the cake, and found the perfect sentiment in the Birthday Messages set from Mama Elephant.

As a finishing touch, I added some oversized enamel dots (to cover up my failed attempt to use Nuvo drops) and an October Afternoon button to hold the twine. Slowly but surely I am still using those lovely buttons. 🙂
