It’s the first Friday of the month, so time for a new elemental inspiration challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers blog.
Rizwana has chosen a summery inspiration image for us to work with:
I was definitely in the mood for a colourful creation, so I went with the colour palette, the bouquet of flowers in the vase, and interpreted the twisted yarn as a decorative border and came up with this:

I started out by stamping the Just Mason Around jar in Coastal ink for the darkest shade and then Sea Glass for the lighter layers to see if it would help me improve the way I line up this stamp set, as it’s not always easy when starting with the lightest shade. I think this order may have been an improvement. So I’ll try it again in future.
Then I selected some bold ink shades to match the colours in the image to stamp the Modern Layered Floral bouquet.
I absolutely love aqua blue, and have quite the collection of 12×12 aqua tones from back when Bazzill released a whole array of them. I found a great one called Patina, which I think may still be available, and it is such a lovely shade to use as the background to a card if you want a bit of pop.
I combined a panel of this cardstock and cut layers of Melon and white cardstock with Spellbinders Postage Edge Rectangles, and then set about selecting a sentiment.
Well, the Everyday Greetings set from The Stamp Market came up trumps.
It has a good selection of sentiments, but I also love the close-cut look you get with the matching dies, making them perfect for using on backgrounds where direct stamping isn’t an option.
To finish off my card, I added some sparkle with sequins.
