Unbelievably, we have rolled into August!
And with a new month comes a new Elemental Inspiration challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers blog.
The elements I’ve gone with are the handwritten theme (complete with fountain pen), birdcage, and a hint of blush pink:
Paper: My Mind’s Eye
Stamps: PTI – Postmarks (r), The Greetery – Sign Off Sentiments
Dies: The Greetery – Sign Off Sentiments, PTI – Round Off Edgers, The Greetery – Pen Pal
I started out by grabbing a few papers from some old My Mind’s Eye collections, including one called Follow Your Heart. I have to say, I really miss the quality of MME papers. They are super smooth, just the right thickness and stamp beautifully. Much crisper than the results you even get on “stamping” cardstock.
I used one of the PTI Round Off Edgers to cut the spotted paper at the top, adding postage elements from the Postmarks set from PTI. I used some Antique Linen ink on the postage stamp to age it a little.
The Pen Pal die from The Greetery is another nod to the handwritten text. I cut it from Concord & 9th Eucalyptus and some gold metallic card for the details.
Then finally cut and stamped the sentiment from the Sign Off Sentiments set by The Greetery.
