This week over on the Daring Cardmakers Challenge blog, the prompt word for the festive season is:
BRIGHT
So of course, I had to pull out a favourite stamp set from The Stamp Market that allows you to get playful with the sentiment:
Digital paper: Crate Paper – Fa La La
Stamps: The Stamp Market – Merry & Bright (r)
Dies: Hello Bluebird – Holly and Pine, The Stamp Market – Jumbo Tag (r)
I had already cut the Jumbo Tag from Bristol card, so I just needed to select my ink colours and get stamping.
Selective inking with the aid of post-it notes to mask off the other letters of the sentiment is much easier if you use ink cubes.
And thankfully my original set of Color Crush cubes were still inky enough for this technique.
My mini Misti and the alignment sheet for it were handy for getting the sentiment lined up on the tag – I just didn’t realise the tag had shifted when I stamped the B!
Never to mind.
I filled in the white space with the pine branches in the same set using Cactus ink, then added a festive bow from Hello Bluebird to the tag.
I had the other half of the paper sheet I’d used the other day from the digital paper pack of Crate Paper’s Fa La La collection to use as a neutral background.
And finally, I added some of the new embossed sequins from The Greetery as a sparkly finishing touch.
