Festive Fridays | The Snowy Life

Another resolution I have this year, especially when it comes to festive projects, is to lean more into my scrapbook collections and the lovely patterned papers I have.

Alas it has taken some time to get a photo for today, as it has been so dark and grey here for the last few days. This is the best photo I could get today!

Card idea | Simple Stories Winter Wonder

With American Crafts on hiatus in terms of new scrapbooking lines (here’s hoping Crate Paper will return with their unique aesthetic) I stocked up on some other supplies last year, including some of the papers and stickers in the Winter Wonder collection by Simple Stories.

Back in the day, I used to use the wonderful Instant Camera die from Lil’ Inker Designs a lot to anchor sentiments and focal points on my cards.

Well, it was the perfect way to create a little sticker sneeze cluster here, complete with papers from the collection providing the perfect backdrop.

I love the clean and fresh look of this colour palette and the fun winter elements in the collection.

Here’s to further deep dives into past Christmas and winter collections! And here’s to better lighting conditions during daytime!

Until next time, happy crafting!

Love this!!! I too have so much patterned paper and it’s too pretty not to use.

Ha, it’s great to know I am not alone. I have always suffered from that “keep it for the mythical perfect project” syndrome when it comes to patterned paper. But I’m getting better now that I have bought digital papers of some of my favourite collections, or at least I did before AC digitals closed shop. 🙁

I can even afford to have a proper sticker sneeze to use up what’s left in past collections (based on what is lurking in my craft cupboard!), we’ll see how that goes down the line… otherwise my niece will be inheriting some interesting stuff for her art sessions. 😀

Cute project Nat and very “you”! You definitely have a great feel for placement, your clustering of elements always looks fab!

Oh thank you so much, Joanne! It was nice to revisit what used to be my default style of cardmaking when I had collection kits to play with. 🙂

I may just deep dive into my older Artbin satchels filled with 12×12 papers of the past… and I have a full shelf of 6×6 paper pads from the years crying for attention.

We shall see, it’s often tricky to find the right combination of paper and then cardmaking stamps/dies, especially if you don’t have the coordinating embellishments to fall back on. I should really have a mooch through my stash to see what hidden gems are still there. 🙂
