I’m back on the Seven Hills Crafts blog today with my first project using the lovely Stitch Edit release from Pinkfresh Studio.

I have to confess to having a bit of a weakness for stitching and hand embroidery themes in cardmaking supplies….
The must-have items in this collection for me were the Heritage Lace dies. They not only cut beautiful trim that coordinates with the Large Spool die, but can also be used as regular borders on so many card projects, as they are just over the width of an A2 card.
They’re also great for using up cardstock scraps, as I’ve done here. And you can be as bold or as subtle as you want with your colour choices.
I wrapped the Heritage Lace trim around the Large Spool die that I had stencilled with a subtle blush pink and chamomile tea ink for that vintage look. I zapped the ink blended spool card with my heat gun before stamping on it with the coordinating Heartmade Details stamps.
To finish off the Large Spool I sewed on a button, tied on some twine at the top, and added a resin flower at the bottom. I have so many resin flowers from years gone by that I may actually make a dent in my stash using them on the Large Spool and the Thread Spool Florals also in this release.
To complete the stitchy look, I mounted the Large Spool card on a Zig Zag Rectangle, and then on the largest of the A2 Stitched Scallops dies from The Greetery.
I think this would also make a lovely Mother’s Day card and could be customised further by adding a monogram to the spool card.
