Happy Festive Friday!

Well, this week it looks like I may need to take a lesson in less is more…

All was going very well with my assembly of my Our House festive card using the lovely new 2026 colours as accents for the lights and wreaths.

Then I had the idea to incorporate some snow, and well, it seems my Ranger sprayer doesn’t do fine mist all that well any more.

Because everything got coated with an uneven spray and big blotchy areas of water.

So by the time I’d added my snow flock and Distress glitter it looks like a blizzard rolled into town! LOL

But it’s fine – I was writing up this post up while the card front was still drying, so the only dodgy bit in the end was the blotchy roof where a fine mist turned into big blobs of water!

I’ve listed all the cardstock colours used on this project, although they may be difficult to identify ha!

The base is Spellbinders Bellini with C9 Mushroom for the roof. I also used C9 Almond for the shutters and flower boxes, but the roof eves, and window sills are white glitter card that contrasted nicely against the Ivory window frames containing Aqua Sky window panes.

The front door is C9 Peacock complete with a gold door handle. For extra gold sparkle, I used glitter card for the “Joy” sentiment.  And that’s really it.

Lesson learned here – less is more, spritz water for flock before adding final details like the sentiment and do it from a much further distance!

Onwards and upwards! This card will hopefully still sparkle nicely on a mantelpiece come December.
