2020 Christmas Countdown | Day 7 (Good Tidings)

Morning!

It’s a new week and I’m definitely back in my comfort zone with today’s card.

You know I love a winter village scene and well, I had an idea for also using a star aperture for a mini greeting and things just went from there:

You can also tell I made this card rather late at night, as I hadn’t noticed the colour difference in my what cardstocks until I came to photograph my project the next day. But ho-hum, it’s all fine! lol

I started off my cutting the star aperture where I knew I wanted to add a tiny sentiment.

I then blended the blue Distress Oxide inks listed below to create the cool night sky and when dry flicked some Hero Arts white liquid watercolour on the background for a little snowy effect.

Then I got down to creating the village from various dies and layering them up.

Only the very bottom strip with the sentiment is popped up on 3D foam tape, the rest are glued down but in a way that the edges that are visible are bent back a little so there’s still some shadow behind them, and they don’t look so flat and 2 dimensional.

All in all a simple yet effective card. They can be a little time-consuming compared to others, but they are very rewarding to make.
