2021 Card Challenge | June Card

Happy Sunday!

I’m hoping to return to my craft desk today since the weather is a little cooler in these parts, but first I thought I’d share my card for the June card challenge prompt, the focus colour for which was aqua:

Card inspiration from Handmade by Natty featuring The Greetery Written in Ribbons

Paper: Carta Bella – Flower Garden

The elements from the prompt that I focussed on were: a fancy oval frame, a touch of gold, a bow/ribbon, fancy lettering.

I used papers from Carta Bella for the background and inside the frame.

The oval frame was cut from champagne gold glitter paper and layered up on two more die cuts for extra dimension.

The sentiments are from the “Written in Ribbons” set by The Greetery, with the Happy stamped in Cotton Candy and Bubblegum ink from The Stamp Market, and the “Birthday to you” stamped in Slate ink on a spare Skinny Strip die cut I had to hand.

I added a pink die cut bow from the “Presents” stand-alone die set by The Stamp Market and floral accents from WPlus9 stamped in Sea Glass and Island ink, plus Altenew green ink shades for the leaves.

It was rather nice to work with pretty paper again and match ink colours to the tones in that floral background. 🙂
