This week over on the Daring Cardmakers blog it was my turn to set the challenge and the theme is “Into the garden”.
Lots of scope for featuring the bounty your garden has to offer or paying homage to your favourite outdoor space.
For my card I went with a full on garden theme thanks to some recent purchases from the Maggie Holmes Garden Party Collection. 🙂

There’s lots of layering on this card and some texture to boot! I wanted to feature a fancy edge detail to separate the two main paper patterns I chose and create more definition with a little foam tape under the decorative edge.
I chose the cottages and greenhouses design as the main background, it has lovely fountains and glass greenhouses on it and also carried over that hint of yellow from the floral paper.
I used one of the cut-apart journaling spots as a sentiment, framed using the Honey Bee Wood Frame Builder dies cut from the wood pattern side of the Trellis paper.
You can really appreciate the texture, and it looks like a proper frame, despite being created with separate die cuts.
I added a little hemp twine to the “picture frame” and a little bow sticker to provide anther pop of yellow.
Finally, I stamped a simple sentiment on white cardstock and mounted it in the bottom right corner.
