Well in my part of the world we’re about to enjoy a long weekend, so for this week’s Daring Cardmakers challenge, Joanne wants us to interpret the word “long” as we see fit.
I’ve gone with a looooong slimline card. 😀
Stencils: The Greetery – Always in Bloom

Dies: The Greetery – Handmade Labels, The Greetery – Crimped Slimline
I started out by cutting the largest Crimped Slimline die from white cardstock and attaching it to a sticky mat ready for stencilling.
Using the stencils from the Always in Bloom set, I applied the ink for the different steps using bright shades from The Stamp Market.
I then went in with darker shades of ink for the stamped details and contemplated how to add my greeting.
Luckily, the dies in the Handmade Labels set include some unusual shapes which work perfectly as apertures too.
After cutting out the label from the main panel, I popped that panel up on some offcuts of card for extra dimension. I’ve also tried to get in the habit of using coloured cardstock for my card bases, and brace yourselves, this shade of green cardstock for the base will feature on another card soon no doubt!
I stamped the sentiment on blush pink cardstock and nestled it into the aperture.
I toyed with the idea of adding some Nuvo dots, but liked the smooth look of the stamped surface without any bling and left it at that. 🙂
