Earlier this year, before my Spring cardmaking kicked into gear, I treated myself to the Whimsical Wings stencils from Concord & 9th as part of a Christmas gift card, and wanted to try them out with the colour scheme that features on the instructions.
Rather than use white or cream, I went with Bazzill Taffy cardstock as my background panel.

All the ink colours used are listed below, and I used a set of detail blending brushes from Amazon for the smaller areas, and used post-its to mask over the larger openings when moving between colours.
Once the panel was complete, I set it aside to dry. I really didn’t want to hide all that lovely inky detail, so I set out in search of a small sentiment for the front of the card, and landed on a simple sentiment from the Tiny Words Birthday set from Simon Says Stamp that I stamped on a banner die-cut from The Greetery Sentiment Suite Basics die set.
And there we go!
I’m already wondering about future colour combos for this set of stencils, and it was actually the stencil set that swung it for me, rather than the stamps!
