Bloom and Grow | Daring Cardmakers Challenge

It’s time for a new challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers blog, and this week Dawn is challenging us to feature garden blooms on our cards.

I had something very different in mind for my card, but things took a different turn…

Card inspiration with The Greetery Sprinkled With Kindness

I started out by stamping out all the blooms and foliage in the Handpainted Garden set from The Stamp Market. I am ashamed to say this was the first outing for this floral set, and it is now discontinued. I went with a blend of coral tones for the peonies and aqua blue for the smaller florals.

But once I’d stamped everything out, I found that I only really needed the smaller florals for my card.

I used the watering can from the Sprinkled with Kindness set by The Greetery to hold all the flowers, but before I stuck it down to my postage stamp cardstock panel, I stencilled some of the Mason Jar Fillers florals and leaves on the background to add a bit of depth.

I really couldn’t decide what colour background to use as my card base, so in the end I pulled out the rainbow background I’d previously stamped with the Chevron stamp from Pinkfresh Studio and thought it went rather well with the dark aqua tones of the watering can.

Finally, I stamped a sentiment from the Sprinkled with Kindness set on a banner strip that is included in the Crimped Slimline dies from The Greetery and added some more floral details to the edge along with a little gold washi tape.

I finished the card off with some sequins among the stencilled florals.
