This week over on the Daring Cardmakers Blog, Joanne has set us the challenge of featuring a bunch of something on our cards… with no lovely coconuts in my stash (that I know of!) I immediately reached for the Modern Layered Floral set from Pinkfresh Studio:

This colour palette is a bit of a departure for me, but I wanted to try something new. It was also the first outing for my new set of Spellbinders Fluted Classics Rectangles dies. I only became aware of this design during the warehouse sale, but the rectangles weren’t available and that was the set I knew I’d use the most. I managed to track down a set on Amazon and snagged them. They arrived just in time for some weekend crafting. 🙂
I used the two shades of blue from the bouquet to create a watercolour wash as the backdrop to the bouquet. Then went with Golden Yellow for that Fluted background.
I cut one of the bows from the Fit to Be Tied set from The Greetery from white cardstock and metallic gold cardstock and offset them slightly, tying the bouquet together and adding a droplet accent to the middle of the bow.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set as the flowers, and there was just enough space to add it on a little banner.
