I’m over on the Seven Hills Crafts blog today with a card project featuring a great die set for those who love an impactful card and florals galore!
Concord & 9th’s Primrose Garden die set (and accompanying stamps) recently came back into stock in the store.
So armed with my pack of assorted Concord & 9th cardstock and a folder of cardstock scraps, I set about die-cutting the elements I’d need.

This die set comes with a kind of shadow background outline and a separate stitched insert die that you can impress into the outline shape or your card front to create a guide for the placement of the elements.
It’s very handy for such a busy card with lots of elements you’re layering up. I also found it useful for totting up how many of each element I’d need to cut to get the full look.
Here’s a list of the Concord & 9th cardstock colours I’ve used:
- Main flower: Mushroom, Nectar, Grapefruit
- Daisies: White and Sunflower
- Posies: Tidepool
- Peony: Dragon Fruit, Sugar Pea, Sunflower
- Leafy branches: Lemongrass
- Berry branches: Evergreen and Cream*
- Large leaves: Aspen*
- Background outline: Sea Glass

Once everything’s cut out, it’s a good time to put a podcast or audiobook on and just work your way through sticking and assembling all the pieces.
I like to use a large acrylic stamp block to hold down anything that needs a bit more pressure.
For more contrast, I mounted the Primrose Garden florals on a grey card base with a little stitched detail around the outside and added white Nuvo drops to the centres of the posies.
The greetings in the matching Primrose Garden stamp set are really handy and coordinate with the banner dies included, but I wanted to keep as much of the florals and foliage on display for this card. So instead, I used one of the more compact Sign-Off Sentiments from The Greetery, and it was the perfect finishing touch.
