I had intended to share this card last week, but just didn’t have chance to get a photo of it until now.
As you may have seen, I recently purchased the 12×12 full assorted pack of Spellbinders ColorWheel cardstock from the UK Spellbinders store, and well there was a die set I’ve had my eye on for the past year that was discounted a bit. And as it was the Large Die of the Month for March 2024, this was my sign to grab it before it was gone.
It must have been the right sign, as it is now back to full price online.
So, once I’d swatched all the lovely new ColorWheel shades (I shared some initial thoughts in this IG post), it was time to chop up that cardstock for a project.
The first colour palette I wanted to explore was the lovely #2 variation in Yana’s Color Study Series.

Here’s a list of the ColorWheel colours I’ve used with the Classic Tales set:

It sounds like a lot when you list them like that, but the majority of pieces were cut from the 1 x 11 strips I had left-over from my swatching session.
It was only the A2 card front in Seaside where I needed to cut into the 8.5 x 11 sheets I’d cut of each colour.
Once everything was assembled on my card, I just needed to find a new home sentiment in my stash.
The Our House Bundle from Concord & 9th had something that fit the bill, so I stamped that in black on Alabaster cardstock cut with the matching banner die for the sentiment.
I think next time I make a card with this set, I’ll use my wonky stitches die to add an outline around the A2 panel to bring everything nicely together.
But I’m really pleased with how this colour combination worked – now I just need Yana to do some more colour studies!
