Happy Festive Friday!
Today, it’s time for a simple make featuring little houses again, of a new-to-me variety.
I recently managed to pick up the lovely Christmas Village dies from A Pocket Full of Happiness in the Seven Hills Crafts store – there’s just one set left and then they’re gone!
So, what makes these dies different from all my other mini houses?
Well, there’s a church/town hall, and the dies in general are wider – so will also work well on larger format cards, and landscape slimline format.
But today, I’ve used them on a regular A2 card:
Dies: A Pocket Full of Happiness – Christmas Village, Hello Bluebird – Be Merry Words (r)
I started out covering my card blank in Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide ink and going in with some Picket Fence Distress ink near the bottom for this graduated pink sky.
Then I splattered the background with water, zapped it with my heat gun, and then added white ink and white gold watercolour paint for extra sparkle.
That’s a great contrast to the plain white buildings that are only decorated with a little pink glitter paper for the festoon lights and the colourful wreath.
I finished off the card with a big die-cut sentiment from Hello Bluebird cut from off-white glitter card.
