I’m back on the Seven Hills Crafts blog today with a project that is a bit of a departure for me.
I tend to be all about the bright colours and clean layering, but today I’ve gone a bit festive grunge!

My whole plan with this card revolved around using the lovely Ribbon Frame die and stencil combo to frame the Dear Santa sentiment from The Greetery.
I was thinking initially about going the postage collage route with that combo, but thought it would be nice to incorporate some stamped festive foliage – and so enter the Winterland Layers stamp set!
I started out by creating my festive Ribbon Frame in red cardstock and using a darker shade of red ink to add in the stencilled details. I ended up cutting another Ribbon Frame in red to layer behind too.
This made it easier to visualise how I could incorporate the Winterland Layers stamps to complement the Ribbon Frame.
But what made this much easier was to cut the Ribbon Frame into an A2 panel of white cardstock and hold all the pieces in place with tape on the back. I was then able to stamp the sentiment inside so it was perfectly positioned and add all the Winterland Layers branches neatly “behind” the Ribbon Frame.
The Winterland Layers stamp set also includes some ink splot stamps which I added in light grey.

To grunge things up a bit more, I blended ink around the edges of the A2 panel.
Finally, I added the layered Ribbon Frame and the separate bow on top for extra pop.
Then it was time to add a splattering of Yellow Gold metallic paint over the entire card. It shimmers beautifully when the light catches it.
Who knows, the next time I take the Dear Santa stamp set for a spin, it might be with a postal theme!
Until next time, happy crafting!
