Over the Bank Holiday weekend I enjoyed a fun craft session, despite the heat. The results included the card I shared yesterday for the Seven Hills Crafts blog featuring the fab Capsule Party Scene die and stencil combo from The Greetery.
Well, while the supplies were still on my desk and I had a left-over background to use up, I dived right into another card!
Strike while the iron (and craft room) is hot and all that!

So essentially, this card was built around the Pale Plum background that I’d cut to fill the capsule frame last time. It was already stamped with Pale Plum ink using the Ticker Tape Background stamp, so I just needed to cut it out with an A2 rectangle die to get the aperture centred.
Then it was just a matter of creating all the layers, this time with a slightly different ink palette.
For the balloons and stars I used Tropic Teal, Cheeky, Party Pink, and Sunshine.
While the bunting alternates in Bubblegum, Melon, Golden, Matcha, Fresh Mint, and Party Pink.
I needed a soft background to go with the Pale Plum, and stamped the Ticker Tape Background on Spellbinders Chiffon using Blush Pink ink from The Stamp Market.
Before assembling all the layers of the Capsule Party Scene (complete with scalloped frames in between the layers), I stamped the “with love” sentiment from the Capsule Collection Floral Borders stamp set in the gap at the bottom.
Once the layers were assembled, they simply puzzled into the aperture in the background panel. Perfect!
Finally, I added the Happy Birthday sentiment from my new favourite (possibly all-time favourite) sentiment set: Laid Back Basics.
Happy sigh, I just love this font and being able to cut so many great sentiments with a matching outline die.
And as a finishing touch, I added some sequins inside the frame giving it a bit of a shaker card look.
And there we go, I look forward to using this Capsule scene set again soon. I love the concept and how easily the layers come together because the dies nest into the original scallop die from the Capsule Basics set. I wonder if any more Capsule scenes will come out for other themes, such as a wintry scene with snowflakes/stars and tree lines to showcase a Christmas tree… who knows.
