When the ideas keep coming, you’ve got to bring them to fruition! Because they can be ever so fleeting and then lost forever… don’t ask me how I know.

During my Bank Holiday weekend craft session, I was just putting away the new and wonderful Capsule Party Scene dies from The Greetery after a project, when I suddenly thought, wouldn’t that bunting look great on a nautical card?

And ta-da! The dies and stencils came back out on my desk.

Like my previous Capsule Party Scene projects, I built up all the layers of the frame, this time omitting the balloons and giving the bunting the red, white, and blue treatment.

I cut more plain scalloped frames to make up for omitting the third scene die, and blended blue inks on the capsule cutout for the base layer of the scene.

The fluffy Pinkfresh blending brush with Lawn Fawn Kiddie Pool ink and a hint of Stormy Sky Distress ink provided the perfect backdrop for me to add the Rolling Tide stencil details at the bottom of the capsule in Lakehouse, Waterfall, and Poolside ink. Love!

Next I assembled the Seagull from the Ahoy, Matey! die set. He is such a character.

And might I had boy was the June 2025 Spellbinders kit offering one of the best ever! I’ve managed to get the June 2025 Large Die of the Month, Stitching Die of the Month, Stencil of the Month, and Clear Stamp of the Month (plus coordinating dies) in various sales since then and am so pleased because that release was perfection and has sadly mostly sold out now except in the UK Spellbinders store.

I ask you, who doesn’t love a nautical theme in the summer months?

For the background to my card, I created more nautical stripes with quick strip dies from The Stamp Market in white and C9 Blueberry.

To break up all the white, I cut the top scalloped frame for the scene from C9 ivory and once everything was assembled on the front of the card, I just needed to add the stamped sentiments from the wonderful Anchors Away stamp set.

And because of the dimension created with these Capsule Party Scene dies, I’m finally using up some bulkier foam pads in my stash. Ordinarily I layer up with scraps of cardstock to add subtle dimension and make my cards easier to mail. But these hand-deliver cards are already bulky enough that foam pads are the best option, and I use them so rarely that I’d rather they went to good use rather than sit gathering dust.

I’m really pleased with how this turned out, and wonder what else I can use that bunting with…
