Happy Festive Friday!

I finally had a chance to sit down with my new C9 2026 festive purchases (thank you, birthday vouchers!) and enjoyed a rather intensive crafty session cutting, stamping, and even testing my maths skills!

The set in question is the Holiday Home bundle…

So the actual stamp and die list for this card is VERY short… but boy did I raid my cardstock stockpile (and my scraps folder), as well as go all out in the ink shades used…

I’ll start with the main construction of the frame. I used Spellbinders Blush cardstock for the archway as well as the stacked corner and side details to add texture and pop.

The die set includes a pop-up strip that makes the tree really spring up, but it also easily folds down into an envelope.

I’m not going to lie, I had to look up the C9 video for this bundle to understand how to use it! Anyhoo, based on that, I was able to construct some accordion strips to make a tunnel/shadow card. The strips in the C9 Shadow Box Base set are supposed to be compatible with this frame. But I don’t have it, so I had to do some mathematical calculations to create strips in Blush, ready to assemble the final card.

But first, it was time to get die-cutting!

There are so many colours listed at the end of this post, but here are the groupings so it’s clearer what I used where:

• Arch, details, accordion strips: Spellbinders Blush
• Tree: C9 Juniper stamped with TSM Jade ink
• Tree decorations: C9 Sweet Pea, Pink Lemonade, Tide Pool, Matte Gold
• Fireplace: C9 Ivory, Mushroom, Pebble, Spiced Cider, Sunflower, Shortbread, Black, Cocoa, Peanut
• Garland and snowglobe: C9 Evergreen, Pink Lemonade, Sweet Pea, Cocoa, Tide Pool (white pen for snow)
• Gifts: C9 Poppy, Sweet Pea, Parsley, Sea Glass, Matte Gold
• Wall: C9 Almond stamped with TSM Blush ink

Maths skills were also deployed to stamp the striped pattern on the Almond wall in my Misti. Thankfully, the L-shaped ruler in the Misti Creative Corners set helped me keep the spacing uniform.

The fun picture wall was created with a bright colour palette on white card, with each picture framed in C9 Stardust card.

Here’s what I used:

• Dove picture: TSM Sea Glass + Altenew Limestone
• Joy picture: TSM Tickle Me Pink
• Peace picture: TSM Rosy, Cherry Kisses, Cactus
• Snowflake picture: TSM Cherry Kisses and Fresh Pink
• Fa la la picture: TSM Dijon and Jade

As for the assembly, once the fireplace is in, it’s easier to work out where to put the pictures.

The tree is popped up on three of the pop-up springs mentioned earlier, and the gifts are then stuck onto the back of the arch frame.

I had to trim down the wall panel a little so that the card would fold flat once the accordion strips were wrapped around the back of it.

Finally, I added a stamped sentiment from the set to the front, and mounted a trimmed down side-folding card on the back.

And there we go!

Hopefully, now that the first card is made with this set and I’m more familiar with it, I’ll find the next one quicker to make.
