Here’s my card for July’s Pantone colour challenge inspired by Ballet Slipper pink!
Happily Lawn Fawn has some great ink colours that fit this challenge – the aptly named Ballet Slippers and Minty Fresh along with the other shades I’ve used…

So my plan was to use an alternative colour palette for the lovely Freehand Floral stamps from WPlus9 – rather than a traditional green for the leaves I wanted to use mint and aqua tones to contrast against the pink florals. For a contrasting neutral tone I used two shades of grey for the flower spray stamps and peach tones for some of the larger blooms.
This was my first go at using post-it tape to mask out the area where you want to add a sentiment – it did do OK, but as the inks being stamped over the top were stamped multiple times it got a little wet and the ink did seep through a little in places but it is hardly noticeable. I think next time I mask off an area like this for stamping I will use blue painter’s tape or a second layer of post-it tape. 🙂
I really like the end result for separating the white space and stamped background.
I paired the Sending You stamp from Winnie & Walter with the “birthday wishes” sentiment from PTI. That Phrase Play #6 set is a really handy one for mixing with this Winnie & Walter set.
Finally when mounting my stamped background on a card I used some Sparkle Tape from Darice to add a little pop of glitter and the ballet pink enamel dots from Crate Paper’s Little You Girl line bring it all together.
