Things are taking a decidedly magical turn this month in our challenge! 😀
But don’t worry, there’s scope for many different interpretations with this image:
Yes you can definitely go with a unicorn theme, but also consider:
- Iridescent and pearlescent finishes – have you purchased any of the new pearl Alcohol inks from Tim Holtz? If so a perfect excuse to use them.
- Glitter galore (not just gold) – use glitter paper or glitter in other mediums. Great as an accent or to die-cut sentiments, frames, etc.
- Pastel or muted rainbow colours – you can achieve some great looks with blended Distress Oxide inks and washed backgrounds.
- Fancy frames – that party plate reminds me of some of the frame die sets in my collection that are woefully underused. Reach for something other than a rectangle die!
- Froufrou trim – do you have organza and other trim in your collection still?
- Ombré effects are still on trend.
- Metallic gold – stickers, tape, edging, frames, etc.
- Diagonal stripes
- Confetti – shaker cards?
- Party hats and streamers
- Monograms or bold sentiments
- Negative die-cutting/masking techniques
- Pin wheels
- Magical and mythical inspiration
Happy crafting!
