2021 Card Challenge | August Card

Well, better late than never I suppose…

I’ve been meaning to get a photo of the card I made for the August card challenge prompt for almost a month now!

But finally the time has arrived and here’s my ode to the colour blue:

Card inspiration from Handmade by Natty featuring The Stamp Market Butterfly Builder

Stamps: The Stamp Market – Butterfly Builder, Hello Bluebird – Sparkles Script
Dies: The Stamp Market – Butterfly Builder, Pinkfresh Studio – Diagonal Stitched Rectangles
Other: Distress Oxide inks

I also went with the combination of butterflies and glitz from the prompt image.

The butterflies were created with an ombré style combination of inks (including the latest blue tones) from The Stamp Market, with their multi-step Butterfly Builder set.

They really stand out well against the Distress Oxide background.

Glitz was my other feature from the prompt, and although it looks quite subtle in the photo, when you rotate the card in the light, the Glitter Art Angels splattering of Chandelier glitter paint really shows up. I added gems and raindrops as additional accents.

Before sticking the butterflies in their final position, I added the stamped sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black, my ink pad of choice and the current one I have must be at least 15 years old now. Still going strong!
