Today’s card features papers that I have found to be extremely versatile for my Christmas cardmaking in years gone by.
And I am so glad that I managed to get multiples when I did, because I love the tree background paper especially for its simple, not overly busy design and how it always provides that perfect backdrop if you have a focal element you want to showcase:

I started out by backing all my card bases with that tree paper, having found a card base in my Christmas box that I’d backed with this paper some previous year, but never managed to actually make the card… So just 4 new bases needed this time!
The Whittle Santa die cuts are coloured in with Copics for the hat and face, and a light grey shade to accent the beard and hat trim. For festive sparkle, I added Stickles to the pompom.
While those were drying, I cut the main tag from just enough of that lovely Mistletoe green paper, with just a sliver to spare.
You may be surprised to hear that no foam tape was used to make these cards. Having passed the scalloped frame from the tag die through the Sidekick 15 times to create 3 stacked layers, I used the centres from the tags to pop up the green tag and left over strips of card to pop up Santa and the sentiment. It does make cards a little heavier, but I’ve been using up scrap cardstock in this way with wet glue to add dimension a while now, and not automatically reaching for my foam tape.
I knew there were some “ho ho ho” sentiments still left on the Greetings paper from this collection, but not enough for all 5 cards, but thankfully the Epoxy stickers for this line included a ho ho ho sticker and a Fa la la sticker, and they were put to good use for this bundle of cards.
I found some aqua/blue paper that would work behind Santa and fit in those little windows. Once the tags were assembled on the cards, I added that pretty pink bow as a final finishing touch that brought everything together.
