Today’s card bundle features brand new everything!
Christmas/winter supplies are my weakness, but I have tried to rein it in recently and only buy things that I will be able to use for multiple designs.
So…. snow globes and winter scenes are always my weakness, and I will always make some kind of card design with them each year. 😉

I started out by cutting the snow globe card base die from red cardstock, but of course I had to give it extra oomph by blending Festive Berries Distress ink on the inside edges and the outside edges of the card to deepen that festive red tone as the more I progressed, the pinker the red of the cardstock looked.
I also used brown distress ink to add some warmer tones to the cardstock that I’d embossed with the woodgrain impression plate.
It looks much more realistic after the texture and colour variation as been added.
I then created a blended sky background with different Oxide inks, knowing most of it would be covered up, but not really caring.
When that was done, I splattered it with white ink for some snowy interest and set the sky backgrounds aside to dry.
I then cut the rest of the snow globe elements I needed from card scraps (trees) and my new stash of gold card and festive glitter card.
Then I selected the greetings and polar bears from the Destination North Pole set and stamped those out ready for assembly.
The final assembled cards (complete with little buttons to hold up the easel) are really different from the usual cards I make.
Pricey, I know, but years of creative fun ahead.
