It’s the first Friday of a new month, so it’s time for a brand-new elemental inspiration challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers blog.

The elements I went with were: Toadstools, textured surface, foliage, round aperture

I started out by die-cutting the Toadstool Garden dies from Neenah 80lb cardstock and blending various Distress Inks and other dye inks on the die-cuts to create those vibrant pops of colour. I also splattered the colourful tops of the toadstools with white and brown Gansai Tambi paint.
While the toadstools were drying, I stencilled and stamped the Floral Frame with inks from The Stamp Market in autumnal shades. When I die cut the frame, I set aside the middle aperture and later blended over it with some Distress Oxide ink already on my blue blending brush to look like sky.
I used a neutral woodgrain pattern from the new Grain and Grunge paper pad by Honey Bee Stamps for the background to my scene.
I popped up the floral frame on some scrap strips of cardstock, and then fit the aperture back into the centre.
Then it was just a matter of placing the toadstools in and adding a sentiment from the Opposites Attract set to complete my card.
