I’m back on the Seven Hills Crafts blog today with more festive inspiration from Waffle Flower’s Christmas in July release!
Today, the focus is on the Poinsettia Die-n-Stencil set.
It’s a versatile set that allows you to stencil the layered Poinsettia directly onto your project, or to cut the die elements first and then stencil onto them.
The Waffle Flower grip mats are great for holding your die cuts in place and the stencils too.

So last week it was a pink poinsettia, this week I was looking at combining some icy tones with something bold.
I used the four shades of aqua in the Seashore set from Altenew to create the layers for the poinsettia, adding some silver enamel dots to the centres.
I wanted a festive stripe in the background, and grabbed another great purchase from the Bargain Basement for this – the Diagonal Striped Coverplate from SugarPea Designs.
The “to-use” storage bin on my desk luckily contained an A2 panel that was already sprayed with Frozen Fog Distress Mica Stain, so I just needed to run this through with the coverplate die – plus I could also piece the left-over strips into the another coverplate panel to create an extra background for future use!
With those cool frosty tones, I needed something bold – enter the lovely Sweet Pea pink cardstock from Concord & 9th! I used this to back the coverplate and splattered more frosty white paint and some bright pink ink over the background.
The card needed some extra detail at the top, so I cut the Ribbon Maker Petite Scallops die from white cardstock, added this at the top and trimmed it down.
Then I added a strip of Sweet Pea cardstock and created a matching ribbon with the bow die in the Christmas Cloche set to finish that off.
Finally, I just needed to add my sentiment from the new Waffle Flower Family Christmas set, and card complete!
