I’m back with another festive Friday make, featuring a stencil and die bundle I picked up in the Spellbinders sale last autumn.
The set is still available elsewhere, but has been retired by Spellbinders.
For its first outing, I was inspired by colour palettes used by Riffle Paper Co. Sometimes I’m glad that you can’t buy their products that easily over here!
But their designs and aesthetic are just up my street.
Stencil and die bundle: Spellbinders – Layered Noel Foliage
Die: Lawn Fawn – Zig Zag Rectangle (r)
I started out cutting an A2 panel of Nectar cardstock from Concord & 9th. I love this colour for the festive season, but I wish the cardstock was smoother for ink blending, as the ink does bleed a little. Detail shading brushes make it go a bit easier, but you’ll see some areas where the ink is a bit messier than I’d like!
For the various ink layering steps, I went with these colours from The Stamp Market:
- Sage + Forest for the greenery
- Bubblegum + Papaya for the florals and buds
- Dijon for the stars
- Lagoon and Jade for the Noel sentiment (stencilled on cream cardstock)
Once the panel was dry, I ran it through my die cutting machine with the large Zig Zag Rectangle die from Lawn Fawn.
I mounted that on a Rainforest card base, adding scraps of cardstock for dimension behind the panel and the sentiment.
Finally, I added white pen details and white Nuvo Drops for extra pop.
