I’m back on the Seven Hills Crafts blog today with another Christmas in July project.
The Winter View Elements die set by Waffle Flower was still on my desk from a recent project where I’d used it inside the Christmas Cloche die set from Concord & 9th.
If you happen to already have that set, then I have a top tip for you: There is a little highlight die in that set that acts as the perfect cable for the cable cars in the Winter View Elements die set.
But before all that, I needed to set the scene for these elements with Waffle Flower’s The View die set (now discontinued – so once it’s gone, it’s gone).

The main mountain range die cuts into an A2 panel, allowing you to then place paper behind the cut layers to mask out the rest of the background as you ink up the sky and the slopes of the mountains.
For my wintry sky, I used Distress Oxides in Saltwater Taffy, Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire, then finally some sunlight with Fossilized Amber.
Then I added Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass to highlight the edges of the mountain slopes.
I splattered the whole panel with white paint and set it aside to dry while I got to work cutting all the Winter View Elements from cardstock scraps.
My white Posca paint pens provided the perfect snowy highlights, and really made everything pop.
I added the glittery accents from The View set as I stuck down the elements on the layers, working from top to bottom.
And as you can see, the little cable cars are riding down the “cables” cut from the Christmas Cloche die set.
Finally, I added a sentiment from the Elegant Christmas 2 stamp and die set and card complete!
