I’m still plugging away at my Easter and Spring card projects.

And this one could be a record for me – over 20 different shades of ink used to create this colourful card!

I was totally inspired by this lovely project on The Greetery’s website – it’s one of the reasons I originally bought the Put a Bow on It set and the Print Shop Floral Frame has always been my favourite in the Print Shop series.

I figured, despite the black background it would make for a suitable Easter card with a tweak or two.

So out came many ink pads (all listed below), including using several shades of green to try to vary the tone on the leaves vs the stems of the stamped frame element.

Once the frame was done, I pieced it back into its A2 panel so that I could position the “greetings” stamp accordingly so it would be aligned and in the right place.

While the white splatters were drying on my black card background, I stamped the Put a Bow on It ribbon in Sunflower and then Golden ink (two layers each).

To layer up the floral frame, I cut it from two more pieces of white card. The A2 panel from the original floral frame provided the perfect guide for centring that inside panel with the “greetings” stamped on it.

Then I just built up the frame layers behind the stamped and stencilled floral frame, including positioning the bow tail behind one of the lowers so I could stick the frame down like a puzzle piece around the aperture centre.

Finally, I popped up some cardstock scraps behind the edges of the bow for extra pop, and added the Let’s Have a Word Easter die cut from a pale duck egg blue Sizzix cardstock in my scraps folder. It was thinner scrapbooking weight cardstock, so I had to cut it several times to layer it up.

And there we go, I don’t think it’s too avant-garde for Easter – it kind of looks like a chalkboard background with those white specks.
